Every successful blog has an About page. When setting up your blog it’s the first way you can give your readers context and an understanding of what to expect. To make your About page, you’ll need to cover five basic areas:
- A photo of yourself
- Why should a reader come to your website?
- Why should a reader listen to you?
- What are people going to find on your blog?
- Who is going to respond to your message?
Simply answering these questions is easy and anyone can do it. However, the best blogs put a lot of effort into how the questions are answered. For advice on how to do that, I recommend a fantastic post from Melyssa Griffin. Because why re-invent the wheel right?
Melyssa covers some pro-blogger essentials, such as writing for your target audience in language and tone, and what to do at the end of your About section. So what are you waiting for, check it out!
